23° INTERNATIONAL ILLUSTRATION FESTIVAL FOR CHILDHOOD AT SARMEDE (MOSTRA INTERNAZIONALE D’ILLUSTRAZIONE PER L’INFANZIA)
 

23° International Illustration Festival For Childhood at Sarmede (Mostra Internazionale d’Illustrazione per l’Infanzia): Le immagini della fantasia was opened on October 22, 2005; this show is dedicated to LE MILLE ED UNA STORIA D’ORIENTE - "A thousand and one tales from the Orient ".
Sarmede, far 45 kilometres from Treviso northwards, is a country placed in Comunità Montana delle Prealpi Trevigiane and it is giving hospitality to this event known also abroad from more twenty years.

   

Forty artists, coming not only from European States but also form Chile, Argentine, Mexico, Iran and Brazil, are showing more 370 original works altogether at 23° International Illustration Festival For Childhood at Sarmede (Mostra Internazionale d’Illustrazione per l’Infanzia).

   

The Illustration Festival, mounted at Sarmede town hall and at Zavrel Museum, shows besides drawings also tales and stories coming from Oriental countries; the subject show: "A thousand and one tales from the orient " (Le mille ed una storia d’Oriente) refers to the stories about " The Thousand and One Nights " which is a wide collection following Islamic world in Middle Ages.
We may admire besides the stories also several drawings by Iranian artists.
The 23° International Illustration Festival For Childhood at Sarmede (Mostra Internazionale d’Illustrazione per l’Infanzia) is showing a part of its dedicated to Orient and another part dedicated to Sita Jucker, who is Swiss author and illustrator of fairy tales books.

   
The shows’ll close on December 18, 2005 in Sarmede and then it’ll open again in Treviso at Museo Ca da Noal from February 18, 2005 to March 12, 2006.
