The King Vittorio Emanuele II spent the night in this Palace on November 15, 1866; he was lodged by the owner, the earl Paolo
Spineda; the king’s call was justified by the very wide victory plebiscite got. It happened on October 21 of the same year in Veneto and it ruled the release of this region from Austrian occupation.
The fountain, cleaned up lately and located in front of the Palace, decorates the Piazza St. Leonardo
(St. Leonard’s Square) today and it appears us as an element separate from the Palace, while it was
inside the garden long ago. |
